AkiDwA, Ireland's leading Migrant Women Network, has expanded to Galway in 2024 after over 20 years in Dublin. Speaking on GOCOM Radio, the Network represented by their Development Officer, Euphomia Edward and Women's Health Officer Bethlehem Gebeyaw, discussed their work in empowering migrant women, promoting gender equality, and combating social issues such as Female genital Mutilation.
With plans for February campaign against FGM and ongoing efforts in Sustainable Development Goals 5 and 10, and Global Citizenship Education, AkiDwA called for cultural competence in service providers; and collaborations through partnership and volunteering.
